A job would supply Alice with money, maybe enough to finally buy a toilet. The newspaper had job adverts on a couple of pages, but they didn’t seem very interesting. Then Alice came across a job in the military and applied after seeing a picture of a woman in a bright orange spacesuit. Alice had to get fit if she wanted to do well in the military career.
The gymnasium was only a short taxi drive from Alice’s house. The place was busy and filled with people trying to loose a few pounds. Alice distracted Ma Bagley off a running machine so that she could go on instead. She didn’t have much luck running in her swimming costume.

Once she was fatigued until she could run no more, Alice greeted Sherman Bagley. It was surprising to find out that Sherman was Alice‘s boss. He was enthusiastic about her joining the military and wished her good luck. Then he left to go home. Alice was upset he didn’t stay and chat.

A tub of ice cream makes everything better at Bella’s house. Although before Bella came back home, George had threatened to kick Alice out the house if she didn’t behave.

Alice was allowed to stay the night again where she would ruin any sleep of George’s. When Alice complained about George, Bella understood and apologized.

Music was played throughout the house, the stereo was located outside where everyone was. Bella went inside to put her book away and George was attempting to dance quite offbeat to the song. Alice mocked his dancing while she was at it. George was annoyed by his wife’s best friend.

The work uniform Alice had to wear was horrid, especially the hat. Hopefully when Alice goes up the job ladder she will get better clothes. So, Alice went to work with an aching pain from yesterday’s workout. She managed to suck up to her boss through her hunger pains.
A little unlucky accident happened at work involving Alice, and now everyone there thinks she’s a loser. Well, she does have the loser trait.
